Days 1 - 2 - Travel to Australia
Fly to Sydney with a connection. Cross the International Time Line and begin your Australia and New Zealand Tour!
Day 3 - Sydney and Bondi Beach
Hike the coastal walk along Bondi Beaches’ shore, swim in the water, gaze out at the surfers and enjoy your time in the trendy area. Enjoy a cliff top walk from Bondi to Coogee!
Day 4 - Sydney and Manly
Take a bike tour of Sydney’s beautiful Harbourfront, Sydney Opera House, and cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Enjoy an evening ferry to the beautiful Manly Beach on the other side of Sydney Harbour.
Day 5 - Sydney - Melbourne
Final morning in Sydney. On arriving in Melbourne we bus into the city where we get checked into our accommodation before heading out for dinner as a group.
Day 6 - Melbourne
Hop on and off the local tram to check out the Docklands/Harbour Town, the Aquarium, the Old Melbourne Gaol, Federation Square, the Immigration Museum and more! Complete with recorded commentary, the historic trams are an ideal way to familiarize ourselves with the city centre.
Day 7 - Phillip Island Conservation
Travel to Phillip Island where we will be welcomed with Rangers and a boardwalk tour at the Koala Conservation Centre. After lunch at the centre we will spend time working in the field on current environmental programs. Enjoy the evening penguin parade!
Day 8 - Project Work
In the morning, work on some current environmental projects out in the field. Explore Phillip Island after lunch and then visit the Chocolate factory, beaches, boardwalks and more. We then travel back into Melbourne in the evening.
Day 9 - Melbourne
Final day in Australia to explore beautiful Melbourne. Visit amazing St. Kilda beach, walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens, buy some wares at Queen Victoria Market, look at all the street art and much more. In the afternoon, we head to the Melbourne Cricket Ground to watch a game of AFL.
Day 10 - Melbourne to Queenstown
Arrive in Queenstown by flight. Check out an art gallery, museums and some of the best shopping areas in the city. Buy some gifts for our friends and family back home.
Day 11 - Franz Joseph Glacier
We will then bus to the Franz Josef Glacier. En route we will stop at Arthur’s Pass, NZ’s highest-altitude settlement. This evening we will head to the Glacier Hot Pools. There are a series of hot pools, each at varying temperatures, surrounded by native bush and fed with pure local glacier water.
Day 12 - Hike the Franz Josef Glacier
With a local guide we will hike the Franz Josef Glacier. Gain extensive knowledge of the formation of the glacier and the wildlife in the area! After dark, we can go on a short walk in search of some of the amazing glow worms native to the ecological area.
Day 13 - FJG to Queenstown
Travel back to Queenstown. Relax and enjoy a final chance to shop for souvenirs and gifts. Take an afternoon walk around the Queenstown Gardens. Make sure you pick up a cheap Frisbee to make the most of the Frisbee golf course there!
Day 14 - Fiordland Cruise
Today we cruise out on the waters of Milford Sound. The trip will be the best way for us to see the Fiordland’s famous sounds, complete with seals, dolphins and cascading waterfalls and misty scenery.
Day 15 - Homeward Bound
On this morning we will say our goodbyes and travel to Auckland and then on home.
