Everest Base Camp

What To Expect

The route to Everest Base Camp begins from Lukla and enters to Khumbu region through Namche Bazaar. Here you experience Sherpa/Tibetan culture. Ancient monasteries and chortens make you feel spiritually blessed. Nothing fascinates you more than the trekking route, surrounding mountains accompanied by rhododendron forests, terraced fields, meadows, pastureland and wilderness. While trekking, Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Cho Oyo, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cholaste, Mt. Tawache, and many other mountains tower in front of you. This panoramic view truly mesmerizes and spellbound anyone who is in love with trekking. According to a report around 25,000 trekkers visit the site in a year.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu (1310 m)

As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the representatives of Evolve Tours welcomes you and route to the hotel which is already booked for you. In the evening, we organize welcome dinner in the hotel with our team.

Day 2 - Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation for trekking

This day is special tour day in Kathmandu city in a car. You will have a guided tour to the famous cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu. Among them, the UNESCO enlisted world heritage sites are the primary places of visit. Pashupatinath (sacred Hindu temple), Bouddhanath (Buddhist Shrine), Swayambhunath (Monkey temple), Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, Dharahara (Bhimsen Tower), Tundikhel, and many other en-route. You can experience night life of Kathmandu till 9 pm. There will be pre- trip discussion with your mountain climbing Sherpa guides for well preparation of the trek.


Day 3 - Kathmandu to Lukla flight and Trek to Phakding (2610 m)

On this day, we drive you to airport for a short scenic flight to Lukla. It is less than 30 minutes flight with astonishing views of mountains, forests and river valleys. After landing in Lukla, we begin our trekking to Phakding. The trail leads to Phakding enjoying scenic beauty along the way. You lodge overnight in Phakding.

Day 4 - Phakding – Namche Trekking (3446 m)

We trek to Namche Bazaar from Phakding Village through Dudh Koshi/Milk River. Before reaching Monjo, on the way, you come across pine forests, fir and rhododendron forests which makes your trip more pleasant. Monjo is the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. The views of giant mountains are impressive while walking through the trail. We stay overnight in a hotel after exploring the surrounding area of Namche Bazaar.


Day 5 - Acclimatization Day

It is acclimatization day in Namche so you have enough time to explore the life style of locals. Short hiking can be utilization of the time. Acclimatization is necessary to adjust your body with high elevation. On this day you can visit Sagarmatha National Park and hiking to Everest View Hotel. You can view the world’s amazing panoramic scenes of the earth and get chance to observe uniquely different Sherpa Culture.

Day 6 - Namche- Tengboche trekking

It is an uphill climb today and we move above Dudh Koshi River. As we go higher, we see the path to Tengboche. The path is encircled by other Himalayas. We see different types of birds and animals on the way. Danfe (national bird of Nepal) is common on the area. We will also see Himalayan tahr on the route.
From Trashinga the trail slopes down and following this tack we arrive at Phunkitenga. We have our lunch here. We will go upward through rhododendron, pine and fir forests to reach Tengboche.
From the way we will see our lodge at Tengboche and the site looks beautiful as it is surrounded by mountains and forests. We will spend night at Tengboche.

Day 7 - Trek to Dingbouche (4400 m)

We begin trip to Dingboche enjoying beautiful scenarios of mountains and landscape. The panoramic views of snow capped mountains and varied landscape gives pleasant experience while walking through the route. The pasture lands and some huts can be seen though the region is mostly abandoned except some settlements along the way. Stay in a lodge to spend night.

Day 8 - Acclimatization Day

In Dingboche we take complete rest. You can walk to explore Dingboche monastery and Chhukung village as you are free for whole day. But, do not forget that you are in rest for the adjustment of your body with the temperature in high elevation. Hiking to Chhukung Village is best way to utilize the day. You can rest all the day taking full of enjoyment of the panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Lhotse, Tawache, Nuptse, Kwangde etc. Stay overnight in guest house.


Day 9 - Dingboche- Lobuche Trek (4930 m)

On this day, we begin climbing to Dugla and continue to Khumbu Glacier which gives astonishing views of Tawache and Cholaste. You can feel the high altitude because of extreme cold in Lobuche Village. Explore the surrounding in the afternoon and stay overnight in Lobuche.

Day 10 - Gorakshep- Everest Base Camp- Gorakshep (51300 m)

From here, we begin our trek to Everest Base Camp, Gorakshep, with the astonishing views of mountains and peaks. Everest Base Camp is the point for the mountaineers to summit the peak. The experience of being at the foothill of world’s highest mountain cannot be expressed in words. We trek descend to Gorakshep in the afternoon and overnight stay there.

Day 11 - Gorakshep to Pheriche Trekking via Kalapatthar (5160 m)

From here we trek to the small mountain of Kalapatthar. Gigantic views of mountains and glaciers around you give a sense of heaven including close-up view of Mt. Everest, Amadablam and Pumori. We continue trekking to a small settlement of Pheriche. You can explore the village of Pheriche where we stay overnight.

Day 12 - Pheriche - Namche Bazaar Trekking (3440 m)

On this day, we trek back to Tengboche from Pheriche. The trail is pleasant with the views of mountains and forests impressive along the trail. We reach Tengboche village. You will have time to explore the village and surrounding. Retrieving journey to Namche Bazaar is pleasantly through valleys and pasturelands. We pass through Tengboche and continue through enjoying the picturesque view of Monjo valley. The distance of mountains make you feel keep on watching for all the time. We reach Namche bazaar and stay overnight in a Lodge.

Day 13 - Namche- Phakding-Lukla (2800 m)

This day trekking trail follows a sandy path with strenuous walk. The trail is full of picturesque view of landscape and some mountain scenarios. You can explore Lukla Bazaar and shop local items there. You can celebrate your successful trekking there in Lukla with special brands of drinks. Evening time offers you to visit surrounding area before we stay overnight in Lukla.

Day 14 - Lukla to Kathmandu

We fly back to Kathmandu. This short and scenic flight possibly makes you feel nostalgic because of the panoramic views of snowy mountains from your plane. You will be taken to hotel. Shopping in market is also a good idea especially, to your beloved ones. You can explore some sites in last moments of Nepal stay. In the evening, we have a celebration dinner together.

Day 15 - Rest and farewell in Kathmandu

On this day, you are free to explore Kathmandu city. You can visit important sites of your interest and wander around the city. Best way is to get a guide and explore Kathmandu and shopping in markets. You can visit art galleries and theatres too. In the evening, we will have celebration dinner with trekking team. At night, you stay in a hotel.

Day 16 - Departure home

Here ends our memorable journey to Nepal as you get on flight for your  home country. Representative of NTA will drop you at the airport.
