Day 1 - Travel to Peru
Depart on our overnight flight to Peru.
Day 2 - Tour Lima, Transfer to Cusco
Arrive and begin our Peru School trip. Learn about the history and culture of Peru’s capital as we visit Plaza de Armas, La Catedral de Lima, and more. Continue on our journey to our final destination of Cusco.
Days 3 - 5 - Community Service
Explore the many sights of this historic city of Cusco: visit Barrio de San Blas, a picturesque neighborhood filled with artisans and craft shops. Transfer to Ollantaytambo. an impressive Incan archaeological site located within the Sacred Valley. Proceed to the rural village where we will be spending the upcoming days on our service project and cultural interaction.
Day 6 - Machu Picchu
Ride the train to visit Machu Picchu today. The sight of Machu Picchu shooting out through the clouds at an elevation of nearly 2,500m is one you will not forget anytime soon. We will have time to explore the ancient city.
Day 7 - Travel to Lake Titicaca
The largest lake in South America and often referred to as the highest navigable lake in the world (elevation: 3,812 m). Board a boat for a floating reed island in the middle of the lake! The indigenous Uros people, predating the Incan civilization, use totora reeds to build ‘artificial’ islands in the middle of the lake, as a means of isolating themselves from prior enemies. overnight on island.
Day 8 - Floating Reed Island, Lake Titicaca
Morning further acquainting ourselves with our Uros hosts. Transfer back to Puno by boat, time to buy some last minute souvenirs in this quaint water-front town. Enjoy a final celebratory dinner and evening before spending the night at our Puno accommodation.
Day 9 - Transfer to Juliaca
Transfer to Juliaca and board our flights homeward bound, stops en route
Day 10 - Home
