Trip Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Old Montreal

We step into Old Montreal, where narrow cobblestone streets, 17th-century buildings, and grand plazas transport us to the city’s colonial past. A guided walking tour takes us through the heart of the district, past landmarks such as Place d’Armes, the Old Port, and Bonsecours Market. At the breathtaking Notre-Dame Basilica, we take in the stunning stained-glass windows and soaring vaulted ceilings before experiencing Aura, an immersive light and sound show that transforms the historic cathedral into a living work of art. A welcome dinner introduces us to classic French Canadian cuisine, where we taste tourtière (meat pie), poutine, and tarte au sucre (sugar pie) while discussing the journey ahead.

  • Day 2: Art, Science & the Creative Spirit of Montreal

Montreal is a city known for its artistic expression and scientific innovation, and today we dive into its most dynamic spaces. We begin the morning in Le Plateau, where colorful murals cover entire buildings. A guided street art tour takes us through this creative district, introducing us to the stories behind the city’s most iconic works. Next, we visit the Biodome, where we walk through four immersive ecosystems, from the lush Amazon rainforest to the icy Antarctic, encountering animals such as penguins, monkeys, and beavers. A visit to the Biosphere, a striking geodesic dome, gives us insight into Montreal’s leadership in environmental sustainability and climate action. After lunch, we explore Mile End, Montreal’s famous food district, where we take part in a bagel-tasting experience at the legendary St-Viateur or Fairmount Bagel shops. As the sun sets, we venture into the Quartier des Spectacles, where Montreal’s festival spirit comes alive with interactive light installations, live music, or digital art projections.

  • Day 3: Mount Royal & Montreal’s Outdoor Lifestyle

On our final day, we embrace Montreal’s love for the outdoors, starting with a morning hike up Mount Royal, the city’s beloved green space designed by the same architect as Central Park. From the Mount Royal lookout, we take in sweeping views of downtown Montreal, the St. Lawrence River, and the surrounding countryside. After descending, we enjoy a hands-on French Canadian cooking workshop, where we learn to make crêpes, sugar pie, or traditional Quebecois comfort food. Before departing, we take a final stroll through Jean-Talon Market, where vendors sell fresh Quebec cheeses, maple products, and seasonal produce, allowing us to take one last taste of Montreal home with us. As we say au revoir, we reflect on our experience—the art, the history, the flavors, and the warmth of Montreal’s people—carrying with us a deeper appreciation for Quebec’s vibrant culture.
