  • Day 1: Arrival in Barcelona – The City of Gaudí

    Our adventure begins in Barcelona, where the mix of Gothic streets, modernist landmarks, and Mediterranean coastline creates an unforgettable first impression. After checking in, we take a guided walking tour through the Gothic Quarter, where we explore ancient Roman ruins, hidden courtyards, and the impressive Barcelona Cathedral. We then head to La Rambla, the city’s lively promenade lined with street performers, flower stalls, and cafés, making a stop at La Boqueria Market, a food lover’s paradise. Here, we sample fresh jamón ibérico, Spanish olives, and fruit smoothies while learning about Barcelona’s culinary traditions. For dinner, we enjoy a welcome meal featuring Catalan specialties, such as escalivada (grilled eggplant and peppers), fideuà (a seafood noodle dish), and crema catalana (a local take on crème brûlée). As the sun sets, we walk along Port Vell, the city’s scenic waterfront, before resting up for an exciting journey ahead.

  • Day 2: Gaudí’s Barcelona – Sagrada Familia & Park Güell

    Today, we immerse ourselves in the artistic world of Antoni Gaudí, one of Spain’s most influential architects. Our first stop is La Sagrada Familia, Gaudí’s masterpiece, where we explore its intricate facades, towering columns, and stunning stained-glass windows. We learn about Gaudí’s vision, the symbolism behind his designs, and the ongoing construction of this UNESCO-listed basilica. Next, we visit Park Güell, a whimsical park designed by Gaudí that feels like stepping into a fairytale. As we walk through mosaic-covered sculptures, curved pathways, and colorful terraces, we gain insight into his organic architectural style, inspired by nature. In the afternoon, we explore Passeig de Gràcia, home to Gaudí’s most famous residential buildings: Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, both known for their unconventional shapes and vibrant ceramic facades. For dinner, we take part in a Catalan cooking workshop, where we learn to make pa amb tomàquet (tomato bread), butifarra (grilled sausage), and classic Spanish tapas.

  • Day 3: Girona & Costa Brava – Medieval History & Coastal Adventure

    A short drive takes us to Girona, one of Spain’s best-preserved medieval cities. We stroll through the colorful houses along the Onyar River, walk across the Eiffel Bridge, and explore the well-preserved Jewish Quarter, one of the most important in Europe. Fans of Game of Thrones will recognize locations from the series as we visit Girona Cathedral and the historic city walls. After lunch in a traditional Catalan tavern, we continue to Costa Brava, a stunning stretch of Mediterranean coastline known for its hidden coves, turquoise waters, and dramatic cliffs. We embark on a kayaking excursion, paddling through rock formations and sea caves, stopping at secluded beaches to swim and snorkel. Before heading back, we enjoy a seaside dinner in a fishing village, tasting fresh seafood, suquet de peix (Catalan fish stew), and local wines while watching the sun dip below the horizon.

  • Day 4: Valencia – The City of Arts & Sciences

    A high-speed train takes us to Valencia, Spain’s third-largest city, where medieval history meets futuristic innovation. Our first stop is the City of Arts and Sciences, an architectural wonder featuring Europe’s largest aquarium, an interactive science museum, and a stunning opera house. We participate in a hands-on science workshop, exploring topics like marine conservation, renewable energy, or space exploration. For lunch, we take part in a paella cooking class, learning the origins of Spain’s most famous rice dish and preparing an authentic paella Valenciana, made with saffron-infused rice, chicken, and rabbit. In the afternoon, we explore Valencia’s historic center, visiting Plaza de la Virgen, Valencia Cathedral, and the Silk Exchange (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). We end the day at Malvarrosa Beach, where we relax along the Mediterranean coast.

  • Day 5: Murcia – Natural Beauty & Outdoor Adventures

    Heading south, we arrive in Murcia, a region known for its rich history, agricultural traditions, and natural landscapes. We begin with a hiking excursion in Sierra Espuña National Park, where we explore pine forests, limestone cliffs, and panoramic viewpoints. Along the way, we learn about the unique ecosystem and conservation projects that protect this diverse region. After lunch in Murcia’s historic center, we visit the Murcia Cathedral, an architectural gem blending Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles. Dinner introduces us to Murcian cuisine, featuring zarangollo (zucchini and egg dish), pastel de carne (meat pie), and locally produced wines.

  • Day 6: Granada – The Alhambra’s Splendor

    We continue to Granada, home to Spain’s most famous Moorish palace: the Alhambra. We explore its stunning courtyards, intricate Islamic tilework, and breathtaking Generalife Gardens, learning about the legacy of Al-Andalus.   • Day 8: Córdoba – The Mezquita & La Judería

    We travel to Córdoba, where we step inside the breathtaking Mezquita-Catedral, a masterpiece of Islamic and Christian architecture. Wandering through La Judería (Jewish Quarter), we visit hidden patios filled with flowers and historic synagogues. For lunch, we sample salmorejo (a thicker version of gazpacho) and flamenquín (crispy ham and cheese rolls) before heading to the Roman Bridge for stunning sunset views.

  • Day 9: Madrid – Spain’s Capital & Cultural Hub

    We arrive in Madrid, Spain’s dynamic capital, where royal heritage, world-renowned art, and a lively urban energy create a fascinating contrast to the coastal cities we’ve explored. After checking into our accommodations, we begin our day at the Prado Museum, one of the most prestigious art museums in the world. A guided tour introduces us to Spanish masterpieces by Velázquez, Goya, and El Greco, as we learn how their works reflect Spain’s evolving history and cultural identity. After the museum, we take a scenic walk through El Retiro Park, Madrid’s green oasis. Once a royal retreat, this vast park is home to sculpted gardens, peaceful lakes, and the breathtaking Crystal Palace, where art exhibitions are often held. We take a break to enjoy Madrid’s slower side, grabbing a café con leche from a local stand or renting rowboats for a short ride on the park’s central lake. In the afternoon, we explore Plaza Mayor, a grand public square that has witnessed centuries of Spanish history, from bullfights to royal celebrations. Nearby, we stop at Mercado de San Miguel, where we sample traditional delicacies such as queso manchego, croquetas, and stuffed piquillo peppers.   • Day 10: Toledo – The Imperial City of Spain

Known as “The City of Three Cultures,” Toledo served as Spain’s capital during medieval times and remains a living museum of Spain’s diverse heritage.   • Day 11: Departure – Adiós, España

    On our final morning in Spain, we take time to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve experienced—from Barcelona’s architectural wonders to the historic streets of Valencia, the Moorish palaces of Andalusia, and Madrid’s royal splendor. Before heading to the airport, we take a leisurely morning stroll through Madrid’s charming neighborhoods, stopping by Gran Vía, Spain’s most famous shopping boulevard, to pick up last-minute souvenirs. Some of us may choose to visit the Royal Palace of Madrid, admiring its grand halls, lush gardens, and opulent décor, while others may explore the bohemian district of Malasaña, filled with independent boutiques, bookshops, and lively cafés. For one last taste of Spain, we enjoy a farewell brunch at a local churrería, indulging in churros con chocolate or a traditional Spanish omelet with fresh bread. As we make our way to the airport, we reminisce about the unforgettable landscapes, history, and friendships we’ve encountered along the way. Though our time in Spain comes to an end, we leave with a deep appreciation for its rich culture, warm hospitality, and timeless beauty—knowing that this incredible country will always welcome us back.
