Accommodations
Day 1: Overnight flight to Peru
Day 2: Hotel in Cusco – Students 3-4 per room; chaperones in twin rooms.
Days 3-6: Hotel near Sacred Valley service site – Same rooming setup.
Days 7-8: Tent camping during Lares Trek.
Day 9: Hotel in Aguas Calientes
Days 10-11: Hotel in Cusco
Day 12: Return home –

Itinerary
Day 1:
Travel to Peru
Evening departure on an overnight flight to Lima.
Day 2:
Arrival in Lima and Transfer to Cusco
Morning arrival in Lima and connecting domestic flight to Cusco.
Light afternoon acclimatization with a visit to Saqsaywaman Ruins, a significant Inca archaeological site near Cusco.
Walking tour of Plaza de Armas and other city landmarks.
Day 3:
Cultural Immersion in Cusco
Morning exploration of nearby Inca sites, such as Q’enqo, Tambomachay, and Pukapukara.
Afternoon free to explore the San Blas artisan district and local markets.
Day 4-7:
Community Service in Sacred Valley
Transfer to a rural village in the Sacred Valley.
Engage in meaningful 4-day service projects (e.g., school renovation, environmental work) in collaboration with local communities.
Evening cultural activities include weaving demonstrations, traditional cooking classes, and Andean music.
Day 8:
Start of Lares Trek
Morning transfer to the Lares Valley to begin the trek.
Trek through remote Andean villages, interacting with locals and witnessing stunning scenery. Overnight camping near a village.
Day 9:
Continue Lares Trek
Trek through high-altitude mountain passes, surrounded by breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and glacial lakes.
Overnight camping near the end point of the trek.
Day 10:
Transfer to Ollantaytambo and Train to Aguas Calientes
Morning transfer from the end of the Lares Trek to Ollantaytambo by private vehicle.
Visit Ollantaytambo archaeological site and have some time to explore the historic town.
Evening train to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in a local hotel.
Day 11:
Machu Picchu Visit
Early morning guided tour of Machu Picchu. Optional hike to the Sun Gate or Huayna Picchu for panoramic views.
Afternoon return train to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 12:
Departure
Morning flight from Cusco to Lima.
Afternoon international flight to Toronto, arriving in the evening.
