Washington DC

Day 1:

Arrive in Washington

Early Morning Departure from A.C. Flora High School to Washington DC

Welcome to Washington D.C.! Bus Drivers will be off duty on arrival and we will switch to local bus charters

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our knowledgeable Evolve Tours Director. Get ready to explore the heart of the nation as we embark on a captivating walking tour of the National Mall. Discover iconic landmarks such as the Washington Mall, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Korean War Memorial, and the Reflecting Pool, immersing yourself in the rich history and significance of these sites. Conclude the tour with a memorable photo-op in front of the White House.

As the day winds down, we’ll embark on an enchanting evening boat cruise along the Potomac River, admiring the illuminated beauty of Washington D.C. on our final night.

Day 2:

Washington Activities

Prepare for a day filled with historical significance and cultural exploration. We’ll start with a visit to the famous Ford’s Theater, the site of President Abraham Lincoln’s assassination in 1865. Watch the compelling play “One Destiny” at Ford’s Theater or a similar venue, and then explore the Petersen House and Center, gaining insights into this pivotal moment in American history. For lunch, we’ll indulge in a culinary and artistic experience at Eastern Market, one of D.C.’s premier food and art markets. In the afternoon, we’ll immerse ourselves in the world’s largest museum and research complex, the Smithsonian Institution. Delve into the wonders of the Air and Space Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the Smithsonian Castle, and more.

Day 3:

Washington and Depart for Home

On our last day in Washington D.C., we will pay our respects and honor the heroes at Arlington National Cemetery. This sacred resting place holds the memories of over 400,000 active duty service members, veterans, and their families, including the esteemed John F. Kennedy. Witness the solemn and poignant changing of the guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Following our visit, we’ll pay tribute to the U.S. Marine Corps at the nearby Marine Corps Memorial. In the afternoon, we’ll bid farewell to Washington D.C. and begin our journey back home, cherishing the memories and knowledge gained during this remarkable trip.
