Itinerary
Day 1:
Embark on an exciting 10-day adventure as you gather with your group at the airport in Toronto Board your flight to Madrid, Spain via London Heathrow, marking the beginning of an unforgettable journey.
Day 2:
Upon arriving in Madrid, board a private bus to Saona Plaza de España for your first group dinner. Check in at Hotel Casón del Tormes, where you’ll settle in for a night of rest before your exploration of the city.
Day 3:
Embark on a morning walking tour to discover iconic landmarks like Cervantes Monument and the Royal Palace. Dive into the city’s culinary scene with a visit to San Miguel Market and Churreria San Gines, followed by a hands-on cooking lesson at A Punto Escuela De Cocina.
Immerse yourself in the passion of Flamenco at Sala Temple. Witness skilled dancers, enjoy traditional tapas, and absorb the vibrant energy of this famous Spanish dance. Conclude the night with a leisurely walk back to the hotel.
Day 4:
Start the day with breakfast before exploring Parque del Retiro on bikes. Visit the Prado museum for a guided tour of Spain’s finest art collections. Engage in group discussions, followed by a group dinner at Restaurante Sanabria.
Day 5:
Depart to Toledo on a private coach bus for a guided walking tour through the city’s rich history and magnificent architecture. Visit the former home of El Greco and the cathedral. Later, depart south to witness the windmills of Don Quijote, concluding the day with a group dinner at Sr Vázquez.
Day 6:
Board a private bus to Atocha Train Station and take a high-speed train to Seville. Check in at Hotel Don Paco, then embark on a guided tour exploring Seville’s Cathedral, Alcazar, and Plaza de España. Enjoy a hands-on cooking lesson to delve into Seville’s culinary culture.
Day 7:
Participate in an exhilarating Jeep tour to the Doñana National Park, followed by a beach visit and exploration of Setas de Sevilla. Conclude the day with a group dinner at Taberna Los Terceros.
Day 8:
Start your day in Spain with a satisfying breakfast before crossing the border into Lisbon, Portugal. In the afternoon, make a picturesque stop in the hilltop village of Monsaraz, offering Mediterranean vistas, Moorish and Medieval architectural influences, and a Knights Templar castle. Lunch with a view of Alqueva Lake precedes a visit to Évora, known for its medieval charm and abundant national monuments, including the Roman Temple and prehistoric standing stones. As the day concludes, arrive in Lisbon, experiencing its historic center with a delightful dinner and an evening stroll through the lively neighborhood.
Day 9:
Embark on a day of authentic Lisbon exploration, discovering diverse barrios, Gothic ruins, Baroque churches, and local markets. Visit the remarkable Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, built by King Manoel in 1497, immersing yourself in its 500-year-old history. In the afternoon, ascend the hill to explore Padrão and the iconic Castelo de São Jorge, a castle with a rich history dating back to the Visigoths in 5 AD, expanded by the Moors in 11 AD. Uncover multiple towers and Lisbon Cathedral. As evening falls, experience Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest quarter, with a group dinner at a traditional Portuguese restaurant, followed by a captivating fado music and dance show.
Day 10:
We’ll board our private bus and depart to the airport. We’ll take a flight back home to Toronto, concluding our trip to Spain.
