TRAVEL TO MARTINIQUE!
Day 1:
TRAVEL TO MONTREAL
Gather at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport for our flight to Montreal. Upon arrival, transfer to our hotel for an overnight stay and get ready for the adventure ahead.
Day 2:
MONTREAL>MARTINIQUE
Morning: Board your flight to the beautiful island of Martinique.
Afternoon: Welcome to Martinique! Upon arrival, meet your enthusiastic Evolve Tours guide. After checking in at the hotel, relax and freshen up. In the evening, enjoy a scenic stroll along Schoelcher waterfront, taking in a spectacular sunset before our welcome group dinner. Return to the hotel for a restful evening.
Day 3:
HIKE MOUNT PELÉE
Morning: Start with a visit to Maison des Volcans in Morne Rouge, learning about the history of Mount Pelée and its volcanic activity through interactive exhibits. Then, embark on a guided hike around Mount Pelée, soaking in panoramic views and the natural beauty of this famous region.
Afternoon: Dive into the waters at Anses d’Arlet for a thrilling snorkeling adventure, followed by a relaxing afternoon at the beach. End the day with another magical sunset.
Day 4:
FORT DE FRANCE, CREOLE LESSON
Morning: Explore the vibrant capital, Fort-de-France, on a guided walking tour, visiting iconic sites such as Schoelcher Library, St. Louis Cathedral, and Palais de Justice. Following the tour, immerse yourself in Creole culture with a language lesson to learn key phrases for engaging with locals.
Afternoon: Participate in a marine biology workshop at the UWI Campus in Schoelcher, led by a knowledgeable professor.
Evening: Enjoy a group dinner followed by an engaging evening activity hosted by your Evolve guide.
Day 5:
NATURAL LANDMARKS, HISTORICAL SITES & COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Morning: Travel to Les Trois-Îlets for a hands-on pottery class at Village de la Poterie, then visit the Pagerie Museum for a deep dive into Martinique’s history of slavery.
Afternoon: Tour La Savane des Esclaves before participating in a rewarding community service project. Activities could include helping local schools, assisting with environmental projects, or contributing to community development.
Day 6:
LOCAL MARKET TOUR & COOKING WORKSHOP
Morning: Start the day with a local market tour to experience the rich flavors and vibrant culture of Martinique.
Afternoon: After lunch, participate in a Creole cooking workshop where a local chef will guide you in preparing a traditional three-course meal. Later, unwind with some free time at the beach.
Evening: Relax at the hotel after dinner.
Day 7:
AIMÉ CÉSAIRE MUSEUM & BALATA GARDENS
Morning: Spend the morning shopping for souvenirs before visiting the Aimé Césaire Museum to learn about the Négritude Movement and the impact of this civil rights leader.
Afternoon: Take a leisurely walk through the stunning Jardin de Balata, where you’ll explore the island’s diverse flora and fauna.
Evening: Enjoy a special group dinner at a local restaurant, followed by a live music performance at Tropiques Atrium.
Day 8:
Biology Workshop
Morning/Afternoon: Spend the day at UWI Schoelcher for an in-depth marine biology workshop with local experts, diving deeper into the island’s marine ecosystem.
Evening: Celebrate your time in Martinique with a farewell dinner on the beach.
Day 9:
Departure
Morning: Board your flight back to Winnipeg, reflecting on an unforgettable journey through Martinique.

Montreal/Winnipeg
