From exploring the rich history of Canada’s capital city to engaging in thrilling outdoor activities, this itinerary promises a balance of culture, education, and fun. Students will have the opportunity to visit iconic landmarks like Notre Dame Basilica and the Supreme Court, while also experiencing hands-on exhibits at the Science Museum and zip-lining at Abraska Laflèche. Itinerary

Ottawa Trip

Day 1:

Depart for Ottawa

6:00 AM Depart Hamilton by coach bus for Ottawa, with an estimated 6-hour drive. The coach will be equipped for comfort, and there will be rest stops along the way to ensure everyone has a chance to stretch and grab snacks.

12:00 PM Arrive in Ottawa and break for lunch. Students can either bring a packed lunch or the group can stop at a convenient spot for a quick bite, possibly near the downtown area.

1:30 PM Visit Notre Dame Basilica. This historic site is one of Ottawa’s most beautiful landmarks, offering a guided tour that will provide insight into the architecture, history, and cultural significance of the cathedral.

3:00 PM Head to the Supreme Court of Canada. A tour here will include an educational session, where students can learn about Canada’s highest court, its role in government, and key cases that have shaped Canadian law.

5:00 PM Check into the hotel. The group will have some time to rest and freshen up after a busy travel day. Rooms will be assigned, and there will be a brief orientation to go over the rules and plans for the evening.

6:30 PM Dinner at Mother Tuckers Restaurant. This well-known buffet-style restaurant will offer a variety of options, ensuring that all students and chaperones are satisfied with the meal.

8:00 PM Haunted Walk of Ottawa. This guided tour will take students through Ottawa’s historic streets and buildings, sharing spooky stories about the city’s past. It’s both entertaining and educational, providing a unique way to explore the city.

9:30 PM Return to the hotel. Students can relax for the evening, with time to unwind or socialize in a supervised environment.

10:00 PM Security check begins. Professional overnight security will be provided to ensure the safety and well-being of the students throughout the night.

Day 2:

Ottawa Activities

7:30 AM Breakfast at the hotel. A hearty buffet-style breakfast will be available to ensure everyone is fueled for the day’s activities.

8:30 AM Depart for the Canada Science and Technology Museum. This interactive museum offers hands-on exhibits on transportation, space exploration, and Canadian scientific innovations, providing an engaging learning experience for students.

11:30 AM Lunch near Byward Market. Students will have the opportunity to explore Byward Market’s many food stalls and restaurants, offering a variety of quick and affordable lunch options.

1:00 PM Zip-lining and Caving at Abraska Laflèche. A 30-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, Abraska Laflèche offers outdoor adventure with zip lines and guided cave explorations. This thrilling experience combines physical activity with lessons on geology and nature.

5:00 PM Return to Ottawa. After a day of adventure, the group will head back to the city, where they can rest and prepare for dinner.

6:30 PM Dinner at Fun Haven. Fun Haven is an entertainment center offering laser tag, arcade games, and more. The students will enjoy a fun-filled dinner here, with plenty of activities to engage in after the meal.

9:00 PM Return to the hotel. Another relaxing evening to unwind and socialize with fellow students, with all activities supervised by chaperones.

10:00 PM Security check begins to ensure a peaceful night’s rest for all.

Day 3:

Return Home

7:30 AM Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Students will pack up and prepare to leave the hotel after breakfast.

9:00 AM Visit the Museum of Nature. This museum showcases Canada’s natural history, with exhibits on dinosaurs, mammals, insects, and the Arctic. It’s both educational and visually stimulating, offering a comprehensive look at the natural world.

11:30 AM Spend time at Rideau Centre. Students will have a short window for shopping or exploring this large downtown shopping mall before heading to lunch.

1:00 PM Lunch at Byward Market. Students will once again have the chance to explore the market’s diverse food offerings, making this a convenient stop before departure.

2:30 PM Depart for Hamilton. The group will board the coach bus for the return journey, with an expected travel time of approximately six hours, including rest stops along the way.

8:30 PM Arrive back in Hamilton. Students will be dropped off at the school or a prearranged location for pickup by parents, concluding the trip.
