Day 1:

Overnight flight to Bali.
Day 2:
Arrival and Cultural Immersion
Our journey begins as we touch down in Bali, where you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred by our Local Guides to our accommodations in Sanur. By the time we settle in the sun will be starting to set.
We will get together for a welcome dinner and orientation. Drawing from the expertise of our local hosts, we will be introduced to the realities of life in Bali, gaining insights into its rich history, diverse culture, and the challenges and victories of its people.
Through this evening of connection and dialogue, we will gain a profound understanding of Bali’s distinctive way of life and the genuine hospitality that awaits us throughout our journey into Bali’s intricate tapestry of beauty and complexities.

Day 3:
Balinese Way of Life
Morning Visit to a Local Balinese Village:
At dawn, we begin our day to a Balinese village, immersing ourselves in the rhythms of daily life. We will be warmly welcomed by villagers, we engage in conversations and activities that unveil the challenges and joys shaping their existence. Through these heartfelt interactions, we gain a deeper understanding of their traditions, customs, and the close-knit community that sustains them.
Afternoon Exploration of Local Art Galleries:
In the afternoon, we explore local art galleries bursting with vibrant colors and rich narratives, including the mesmerizing Javanese wayang. We will also stop in some of the most popular outdoor markets like Art Market Kumbasari, the Sanur Night Market and more.
Evening
Group dinner and guided discussions unravel the tales within these artworks, providing insights into their cultural significance. We will gain a profound appreciation for Balinese creativity and storytelling, enriching our cultural understanding.

Day 4:
Hindu-Buddhist Heritage
Morning Exploration to Ancient Temples and Bali’s Religious Heritage:
This morning we will embark on a journey to ancient temples, including Taman Ayun, Jagattnatha, Sakenan, Pura Tanjung Sari and if time permits more . We will dive deep into Bali’s rich religious heritage as we wander through these sacred sites, marveling at their intricate architecture and spiritual significance. Engage in discussions about the unique blending of Hinduism and Buddhism in Bali’s history, gaining insights into the island’s profound cultural tapestry.
Afternoon Ocean Conservation
In the late afternoon we will visit the Coral Conservation project. We will learn about all of their initiatives and how they are helping coral reefs.

Day 5:
Monkey Forest and Traditional Dance
Morning Exploration – Ubud Monkey Forest Encounter:
After breakfast, we set out for an adventure in the Ubud Monkey Forest. Surrounded by lush greenery, we will observe and interact with the playful residents of this sacred sanctuary. Discover the intriguing behaviors and natural habitats of these curious creatures as our guides share their insights into the importance of conserving Bali’s wildlife.
Afternoon Cultural Extravaganza – Balinese Dance and Gamelan Music:
In the early afternoon after lunch we will visit the Suwat water fall. A place where we will unwind, and soak in all we have learnt so far.
In the late afternoon before dinner we will sunset immerse ourselves in the vibrant world of Balinese culture. We will learn and participate in traditional Balinese dance and Gamelan music.

Day 6:
Ubud Highlights and Impact of Tourism
Morning
Today we will further explore Ubud by learning about its art, culture, and unique wayang narratives. We will have an opportunity to discuss the effects of tourism on Bali’s economy and culture.
Afternoon
We will visit some of the most popular markets and have some free time to explore.

Day 7:
Sunrise Hike and Volcanic Mysteries
Morning/Afternoon Adventure – Mount Batur Sunrise Hike:
Rise and shine for an early morning adventure that will provide us with breathtaking vistas and a sense of accomplishment. We embark on a sunrise hike up the iconic Mount Batur. As we ascend, witness the world below. At the summit, enjoy a well-deserved breakfast while gazing upon the beautiful panorama.
Evening
Group dinner and hot springs at Toya Bungkah and evening group meditation. With our local guide we will explore the intriguing relationship between the island’s spirituality and its volcanic terrain.

Day 8:
Water Resources and Impact of Tourism
Morning Exploration – a and Water Resources:
Today we will visit the Tukad Cepung waterfall. We will have discussions on the profound significance of water resources on the island. Gain insights into the vital role these resources play in Balinese life, from agriculture to spirituality. This serene and reflective experience sets the tone for the day ahead.
Afternoon Discovery – Tourism’s Impact on Bali’s Environment and Culture
In the afternoon,we will explore first and hand and discuss the impact of tourism on Bali’s delicate ecosystem and vibrant culture. Through guided discussions, we examine how the influx of visitors has shaped the island’s environment and traditions. Explore both the positive and challenging aspects of tourism in Bali, gaining a deeper understanding of its role in the island’s evolution. This session encourages us to reflect on responsible travel and cultural preservation as we navigate Bali’s complex relationship with tourism.
Day 9:
Historical Exploration
Today we will connect with a local guide who will take us on a guided tour of some of the most important historical sites related to Bali’s colonial past.
In the afternoon we will participate in a food tour and spend time in one of the many local beaches.
Day 10:
Balinese Art and Craftsmanship
Morning Creative Session – Traditional Balinese Art and Craft Workshops:
Today we will embrace our inner artist as we immerse ourselves in the world of traditional Balinese art and craftsmanship. In the morning, we participate in hands-on workshops led by skilled artisans. We will dive into the intricate techniques of Balinese painting, carving, or crafting, depending on the workshop chosen. Discover the beauty of creating art using age-old methods, and experience the joy of craftsmanship as you craft your own masterpiece.
