Our high school STEAM Club is excited to offer an educational and engaging trip to the Rochester/Finger Lakes region in New York. This 4-day trip will immerse students in hands-on learning experiences across various fields, including science, technology, and the arts. From interactive museums and workshops to live theatre performances and outdoor exploration, students will have the opportunity to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of STEAM subjects in a fun and dynamic way. This trip promises to be both educational and memorable, enriching their classroom learning with real-world experiences.
Activities & Attractions
- Strong Museum of Play: Explore the history of play and technology innovations at this interactive museum.
- George Eastman Museum: Learn about the history of photography and innovation through exhibits at this historic mansion and museum.
- Rochester Museum & Science Center/Planetarium: Engage in hands-on science exhibits and explore the wonders of the universe at the planetarium.
- Geva Theatre: Attend a performance of Little Women at Rochester’s premier theatre.
- Corning Museum of Glass: Participate in a glass-blowing workshop and explore the material science of glassmaking.
- Hands-on Glass Studio: Create a personalized glass ornament or paperweight in this hands-on glassmaking experience.
- Watkins Glen State Park: Hike through scenic trails and explore the natural beauty of this famous park, known for its waterfalls and gorge paths.

Departure to Rochester
7:00 AM: Depart from Brantford Collegiate Institute.
12:00 PM: Arrive in Rochester and have lunch (not included in the tour cost).
1:30 PM: Visit the Strong Museum of Play for an interactive experience exploring the history of play and technology.
4:00 PM: Check in to a quality 3-star, student-friendly hotel.
5:30 PM: Group dinner (included in the tour cost).
Day 2: March 8, 2025
Rochester Museums and Theatre
8:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.
9:00 AM: Visit the George Eastman Museum to learn about the history of photography and innovations.
11:00 AM: Explore the Rochester Museum & Science Center and Planetarium.
1:00 PM: Lunch (not included in the tour cost).
2:00 PM: Continue exploring the Rochester Museum exhibits.
6:00 PM: Attend Little Women performance at the Geva Theatre.

Watkins Glen State Park
8:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel and check out.
9:00 AM: Travel to Watkins Glen State Park.
10:00 AM: Explore the upper trails and enjoy the natural beauty of the park.
12:30 PM: Lunch en route (not included in the tour cost).
1:30 PM: Depart for Brantford.
6:00 PM: Arrive back at Brantford Collegiate Institute.
NOTE: Watkins Glen State Park typically opens its main gorge trail starting in mid-May, so the gorge trail will not be open in March. However, the park itself remains accessible year-round, and visitors can still explore some of the upper trails and picnic areas, but the iconic gorge trails and waterfalls may not be available due to seasonal closures.
