Itinerary
Day 1:
Travel to Italy
Afternoon: Gather as a group in Toronto. Evening: Embark on your overnight flight with connections to Italy!
Day 2:
Welcome to Venice!
Afternoon: Touch down at Venice Marco Polo Airport. Venice, renowned for its canals, was built on an archipelago of 118 islands connected by about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. Transfer to your hotel, check-in, and freshen up. After some relaxation time, visit St. Mark’s Basilica, a symbol of Venetian wealth and power dating back to the 11th century.
Evening: Share a delightful welcome dinner in Venice as a group before heading back to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 3:
Explore Venice
Morning: Rise and shine for breakfast at the hotel. Hop on a vaporetto, a local water ferry, passing by the iconic Gondoliers in their black and white striped shirts. Cruise along the Grand Canal, enjoying the picturesque pastel banks and bustling boat traffic.
Afternoon: Take the vaporetto to Burano Island for lunch and a stroll among charming, colorful houses. Explore Torcello, the first inhabited island in the lagoon, featuring the ex-cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the tiny church of Santa Fosca.
Evening: Return to Venice and savor dinner. Attend a live concert performance in the evening.
Day 4:
Transfer to Florence
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Travel to Florence
Afternoon: Participate in an agriturismo farm experience, which will include a visit to vineyards, olive oil making facilities and a mozzarella making demonstration. We will also get to enjoy the idyllic location of the farmhouse and its views over the surrounding hills.
Arrive in Florence! Check into your hotel
Evening: Eat Dinner as a group
Day 5:
Explore Florence
Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel before venturing out to explore Florence. Visit The Accademia in the morning to see Michelangelo’s original David. Head to Piazza della Signoria, Florence’s main square, for lunch.
Afternoon: Explore the Uffizi Gallery, showcasing works by da Vinci, Botticelli, Titian, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and more. Enjoy some time for shopping in outdoor markets and walking along the Luagrno to the Ponte Vecchio Bridge.
Evening: Join a group cooking class to learn how to prepare authentic Italian dishes.
Day 6:
Transfer to Rome
Morning: Check out of your Florence hotel and depart for Rome. Upon arrival, check into your new accommodations, freshen up, and explore the city.
Afternoon: Enjoy lunch at one of the cafes in Piazza Navona, then visit the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza di Spagna.
Evening: Indulge in a group dinner at a local Italian restaurant for your first night in Rome.
Day 7:
Explore Rome
Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Rome. Enjoy a guided visit to Vatican City, including St Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel.
Afternoon: Head to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum to witness the enduring symbols of the Eternal City.
Evening: Dinner as a group
Day 8:
Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius & Sorrento
Morning: After an early breakfast, check out and depart for Sorrento via coach bus, stopping at Pompeii for a guided tour. Learn about the archaeological excavation strategies and the city’s history.
Afternoon: Enjoy lunch in nearby Boscoreale, followed by a light hike up Mount Vesuvius. Experience stunning views of Naples and marvel at the diverse plant life in this UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Evening: Continue to Sorrento, check in, and enjoy dinner. Explore the town in the evening with your Evolve Tours director.
Day 9:
Herculaneum, Naples National Archaeological Museum
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and embark on a half-day tour of Herculaneum. Explore the ruins, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a significant archaeological discovery.
Afternoon: Explore the Naples National Archaeological Museum, housing a vast collection of Roman, Greek, and Renaissance-era artifacts.
Evening: Gather for a group dinner in Naples, followed by a live opera performance at the Teatro San Carlo, Italy’s oldest opera house.
Return to the Sorrento hotel, preparing to depart in the morning.
Day 10:
Return home
Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, check out, and depart to Airport.
