Kate is a non-stop explorer who brings adventure to everywhere she goes. She also happens to be our resident yoga teacher! We asked her about her favourite trips and here’s what she had to say…

So far, where are all the cool places you’ve travelled to?
Scotland, England, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Morocco, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Washington D.C, New York, Montreal, and Ottawa.
Where are you craving to go to next?
Always more Europe. Never enough Europe. Europe is like an itch than can never be fully scratched. Europe is like the best dessert you’ve ever eaten, but every single day of your life. Europe calls to me in my sleep. I’ve been in love with Europe ever since my dad made the joke “You’re-a-peein” when I was nine. Europe is the classiest part of me. Europe is like my child, my mother, and my strange second aunt, once removed. Scandinavia would be nice, too.
What are your packing essentials for a trip?
Toothpaste, a toothbrush, and chocolate.
You will most likely be spotted on a destination doing…
Dancing, turning regular facts into fun facts, and eating Swiss cheese. Ideally, all of those at once.

Tell us about your recent trip!
What was your favourite activity?
Learning to make paella while watching the sunset over Las Ramblas in Barcelona.
What was the best thing you ate on this trip?
The seafood in Bilbao is off-the-charts amazing!
Tell us a story! Any embarrassing/funny/memorable moments with your students and teachers?
While in the stunning San Sebastian, we decided to have a sand-sculpture competition on the beach. After thirty minutes of laughing, sand-sculpting, and finding sea shells, the sun came out behind this giant cloud, and we took it to mean that we were all winners. This also meant everyone got a delicious, delicious prize.
What’s your #1 advice for those who have never been to this destination?
Don’t be afraid to follow the Spanish clock and embrace the cultural adventures that happen every hour of the day!
One more thing…Do you have a favourite travel motto you live by?
We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.
