Day 1 - Travel to Morocco
Board our overnight flight, Morocco bound.
Day 2 - Arrival in Morrocco
Take an introductory tour of Marrakesh’s traditional Moroccan art and architecture, including Ben Yusuf Madrassah. Participate in an introduction to Arabic class and spend the afternoon with pool time and relaxation.
Day 3 - Marrakech
Visit Medina’s two miles of secret passages. Next, we will go to Koutoubia Minaret (the largest mosque in Marrakesh), The Saadian’s tombs which dating back to time of the sultans and the Dar Si Said Museum of Moroccan art. Visit Jemma El Fna square and end the day with a Moroccan Dinner and cultural Show.
Day 4 - Essouira
Explore UNESCO World Heritage city of Essouira. Explore its markets filled with beautiful artisan works and wood carvings. Then, head to the beach for some R&R. In the evening have a traditional dinner and sample the seafood for which the town is known for.
Day 5 - Dades Gorge
Tour the World heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, used as a backdrop for more than 20 Hollywood films. Enjoy the beauty as we drive over the Atlas Mountains. Continue towards the Valley of Roses and the Dades Gorge.
Day 6 - Merzouga
Visit Todra Gorge: a massive fault, rising to 300m in a narrow valley thick studded with palmeries and Berber Villages. Head further into the desert to Merzouga, stopping along the great Sand Dunes of Erg Chebbi where you take a camel ride to get to your sleep at a Bivouac Tent.
Day 7 - Fes
Jump back on the camels for the short ride back to the hotel. Stop at a sand dune for sand boarding! Arrival in Fes in the evening. After dinner, enjoy a traditional Moroccan Hammam (bathhouse) and relax.
Day 8 - Fes
Meet at a session at a Moroccan cooking school! Then, we’re off to the souk to bargain with vendors and purchase all the ingredients we need for our typical Moroccan meal. We will cook our meal under professional guidance and then enjoy it for dinner. This evening we will see a concert performance in the town.
Day 9 - Rabat
Participate in a community service project at town of Meknes. Next, we will travel to Kenitra. There, we will meet our local instructors and head to the beach for our lessons. Eat a picnic lunch on the beach. This evening experience the cultural heritage of Morocco’s capital city, Casablanca.
Day 10 - Casablanca
Participate in a community service project. The day will consist of a hands on project such as reading to the blind, painting a school house in Ait Boughmaz, or organizing a “play day” for children at the local orphanage. In the afternoon we will take a guided walking tour of Casablanca.
Day 11 - Homeward Bound
